Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the Clinician 2021

This book was conceived to reflect the academic maturity and global outlook of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI). Since its establishment in 1969, AOMSI has grown into a dynamic international community, and publishing an open-access comprehensive textbook was chosen to commemorate its 50th year. Freely available under a CC BY license, the book aims to support clinicians, trainees, and young surgeons worldwide. It brings together contributions from AOMSI members and 41 international experts selected for their clinical expertise, academic merit, and diversity. Despite challenges in standardizing content from varied sources, the final outcome successfully integrates evidence-based practice, diverse surgical approaches, and modern technology in a consistent format. Comprising 22 sections and 88 chapters, along with case scenarios and 68 surgical videos, the book serves as a practical guide for clinical decision-making, exam preparation, and everyday maxillofacial practice. The editors hope it will be widely read and critically reviewed by the global maxillofacial community.
